Mexican Dance

The vibrant culture of Mexico, comes alive through Mexican dance. There are several Mexican dance forms that have evolved through generations and have come to occupy an important position in the history of the country.

In view of the popularity of the dance form, Mexican Hat Dance has earned the status of being the Mexican national dance. This dance form is inextricably interwoven with the tradition and nationality of the country and even the school children are given lessons in Mexican Hat Dance. The dance embodies a celebratory spirit and have been used to observe the close of Mexican Revolution.

Danza de los Viejitos

Humor is the defining element of Danza de los Viejitos dance from. The attire that is used for the dance represents clothes worn by the farmers. Masks representing old men complete the attire. An interesting folk dance form of Mexico is Jalisco that belongs to Jalisco state of Mexico. Jalisco is also credited for being the place where the famous Mariachi folk music of Mexico took shape. Another popular Mexican folk dance is Baile Folklorico.

It can be said that Mexican dance is a celebration of Mexican life. Significant occasions like weddings, inauguration events or births are graced by Mexican dances.
