Some historians believe that the Mayan people had crossed the Bering Strait some 20,000 years ago. They lived a nomadic life and were mostly hunters. A lot of research is done to find out the relation of the Mayans with the Olmecs which still remains a mystery.

The Aztec civilization

The civilization had a very strong government which looked after the taxes, punishments, famines and trade relations. Tenochtitlan was the major city and all the major dealings were carried out here. Strict laws were imposed for punishment. Art occupied a prominent place in their lives. Most of the sculptures depicted their Gods and how interaction was carried out.

Toltec Civilization

Though information about their early life is not very clear, evidences have been found about their links with the Zapotec and Mixtec civilizations.
