History of Mexico throws light on the 300 years of dominant Spanish rule. Finally independence was achieved by Mexico in 1821.The period from 1535 to 1821 is known as the Spanish colonial period and it was during this eventful period that Texas ,California and new Mexico were formed.
Mexican History saw the emperors, dictators provincial executives and presidents controlling the reigns of power. It was the year of 1836 when Texas was lost to U.S. In the year 1855 series of reforms were introduced by the Indian nationalist Benito Juárez. With the civil war on going, Mexico received a bolt from the blue when France attacked the country. The Maxmilian of Austria became the emperor but for a very short time because he was dethroned and killed. In 1867 Juarez became the President.
Ancient Mexico
Ancient Mexico had gone through rapid developments during the Spanish Rule. After the fall of the autocrat Porfirio Diaz there was political turmoil in the country. Constant political differences between Mexico and US forced the US troops to enter into northern part of Mexico. After the civil war in 1920 Mexico adopted social .political and agricultural reforms which were directed towards the economic benefit of the country.
Ancient Mexico and Central America
The whole of 19th century saw the rise and fall of many rulers. It was during this time that Mexico lost most of its controversial territories to United States. Relations with US soured again in 1938 when all the foreign oil wells were taken by U.S.
