The higher areas of the mountains remain cold for most of the year. The lower regions are warm and humid. Most of the higher areas remained covered with snow during the months from November to February. August to October is the ideal season. There is abundant growth of fruits, vegetables and crops in the fertile high regions of the Copper Canyon. The area has flourishing fields of geraniums, fuchsia, peonies, wild flowers and roses.
