The city of Cabo San Lucas was discovered by Francisco de Ulloa in 1537. Mostly nomadic groups lived by surviving on fruits, seeds, roots and shell fish. They were also engaged in fishing and hunting.

The city boasts of some famous beaches like the Playa Medano and Playa del Amor. Tourists can enjoy snorkeling in the bay of Santa Maria and Chileno.
