Nestled at the slopes of the Baja peninsula Cabo San Lucas is blessed with a wonderful climate. The city, once famous for fishing, has still managed to retain its charm and beauty. Special efforts are being taken to develop vacation oriented tourist spots, including health centers, therapeutic spas, restaurants and fun parks.

Cabo San Lucas Climate

December and January being the coldest months, the city experiences an average temperature of 72 degree Fahrenheits. For more than 300 days the city receives sunshine. Tourism flourishes from the month of October to April. The city receives an annual rainfall of 10 inches.

Cabo San Lucas Geography

The city of Cabo San Lucas is situated at the foot hills of the mountain ranges of the Baza peninsula. The city boasts of vast desert areas encircled by the stunning coastlines. The city is dominated by two water bodies. Tourists can experience the beauty of the Pacific beaches and dive into the safe waters of the Sea of Cortez.

Cabo San Lucas History

The city of Cabo San Lucas was discovered by Francisco de Ulloa in 1537. Mostly nomadic groups lived by surviving on fruits, seeds, roots and shell fish. They were also engaged in fishing and hunting.

Cabo San Lucas Attractions

The city boasts of some famous beaches like the Playa Medano and Playa del Amor. Tourists can enjoy snorkeling in the bay of Santa Maria and Chileno. Tourists interested in fishing can enjoy the fishing options available here. Different variety of blue, black and stripped Marlin is found here. The city is plays a host to some of the biggest Marlin tournaments. The presence of the two big water bodies provides an ideal opportunity to the water sports enthusiasts. Pacific Ocean and the Cortez Sea are perfect places for swimming, scuba diving, sea kayaking, snorkeling, para sailing and surfing. If the tourists had enough of water sports then they can engage in the non water sports activities.
