Celebration of Mexican Independence Day
The Independence Day is celebrated with great grandeur allover the United Mexican States. However, the celebration in the capital city of Mexico is undoubtedly the most remarkable one. The Mexican President initiates the annual celebration by ringing the legendary bell of Hidalgo placed within the national palace of the city of Mexico.
The festivities start sharp at 11:00 P.M. on the 15th of September. The National Palace is adorned with lightings and colorful floral arrangements for this yearly occasion. The common people mostly participate in the festivities that are arranged on 16th September. The Mexican Independence Day parade attracts innumerable visitors from in and around the city of Mexico. The town plaza in Mexico called Zocalo is the place from where the parade begins. The march ends after reaching the Paseo de la Reforma.
Independence Day in Mexico is also marked by many other ritual events. While ringing the bell of Hidalgo, the Mexican president calls out the words: Mexicanos, Viva Mexico and the people gathered around the national palace in Mexico City follow the President’s words. These words are believed to ignite patriotism among the common people of the Mexican Republic. This ritual has been an integral part of the Independence Day celebration in all states of the Mexican Republic.
